Fresh mushrooms are perishable, so the delivery model is tighter than you'd see from a typical online grocer. Two options below.

The 35-mile Fresh Delivery Zone

We hand-deliver fresh mushrooms in our own vehicles within a 35-mile radius of Gurnee, IL. Covering northeast Illinois and a chunk of southeast Wisconsin (Lake, McHenry, north Cook, and Kenosha counties).

  • Delivery days. Wednesday and Saturday, the day after harvest. We pick the day at checkout based on your ZIP.
  • Delivery window. 9am to 7pm. We text 30 minutes before we hit your block so nothing waits on the porch.
  • Cost. Free on orders $40+, $5 flat under $40.
  • What we leave. A paper bag with your packed order in a small insulated tote. Tote is yours to keep, but it folds flat so you can stash one in the car.

ZIP eligibility

At checkout we automatically check your ZIP against the fresh lane. If you're outside, we surface the ship-only option (dried mushrooms) and route you to Pit Stops for the closest farmers market if you want fresh.

Shipping (outside the Fresh Delivery Zone)

We ship dried species only. Reishi, Turkey Tail decoction kits, dehydrated shiitake, and powdered preparations. To the lower 48 via USPS Priority Mail. Fresh species can't survive the multi-day transit without quality loss, so we don't ship them. (We've tried. The customer-experience math doesn't work.)

  • Cutoff. Tuesday 4pm CT for Wednesday ship. Orders after that go out the next week.
  • Transit. 2 to 4 business days inside the lower 48.
  • Cost. $9 flat shipping. Free on orders $75+.
  • Tracking. Emailed automatically when the label prints.

Subscriptions

Subscription deliveries follow the cadence you picked at signup. Weekly, every-2-weeks, or monthly. Anchored from your first order date. Stripe handles the billing; we handle the harvest. You can skip a delivery any time from your Billing Portal at least 48 hours before the next scheduled run.

What if something's wrong

If your delivery doesn't arrive, looks damaged, or is missing items, contact us within 24 hours of the scheduled delivery time:
