Turkey Tail Tincture (Alcohol Dual-Extraction Base)
VeganThe traditional shelf-stable preparation. Dried Turkey Tail steeps in vodka for 4-6 weeks; the alcohol pulls compounds water alone can't reach. A few drops daily in tea or water; lasts years on the shelf.
-
1
Pack the dried Turkey Tail pieces loosely into the clean glass jar — they should fill about half the jar.
-
2
Pour the vodka over the mushrooms, completely submerging them with at least 1 inch of liquid above. Seal tightly.
-
3
Label with the start date. Store in a dark cupboard.
-
4
Shake the jar daily — just a vigorous 15-second shake — for 4-6 weeks. The liquid will darken from clear to deep amber.
-
5
After 4-6 weeks, strain through cheesecloth-lined sieve into a clean bowl. Press the solids hard to extract every drop.
-
6
Funnel the tincture into a dropper bottle. Store at room temperature; shelf-stable for 3+ years.
-
7
To use: 10-30 drops in water, tea, or under the tongue, 1-2 times daily. Start low.

Turkey Tail Bone-Broth Booster
Turkey Tail is tough and leathery. Not a culinary mushroom. The compounds come out in a long simmer. Adding a small handful to a long-simmered bone broth makes a deeply savory, earthy mug.
Turkey Tail + Chicken Bone Broth (Long Simmer)
Dried Turkey Tail simmered for hours with a roast chicken carcass — yields a deeply mineral, golden broth. Sip on its own, or use as the base for any soup that wants soul.
